Software that earns its place in the business.

Vytal Technology is a UK technology company. We advise on IT strategy, design and build custom software for business and consumer use, keep it running once it is live, and use structured market research so the roadmap follows evidence rather than assumption.

Four service lines, one accountable team

Our registered activities map directly to how we work: consultancy, software development, ongoing technology services and market research. Most clients start with one and grow into the others.

How we work

Small increments, visible progress, no surprises

Most failed software projects do not fail at the keyboard. They fail because nobody agreed what "done" meant, or because six months passed before anyone outside the team saw anything working.

We work in two-week increments. Every increment ends with something you can open in a browser, a short written note on what changed, and an honest position on what is at risk. If the plan needs to change, you hear it that fortnight — not at the end.

The process

From first call to live system

A predictable path, whether the engagement is a two-week review or a year-long build.

Discovery

We learn the business goal, the constraints and the people affected. Output: a written problem statement you recognise.

Evidence

Research where it matters — users, competitors, existing data. Enough to choose confidently, not enough to stall.

Build

Two-week increments with a live demo at the end of each. Tests, code review and documentation as we go.

Run

Launch, monitor, iterate. Either we keep it running under a support agreement or we hand it to your team.

Engagement models

Three ways to work with us

Pick the commercial shape that suits the risk you are carrying. All three are set out in writing before anything starts.

Fixed-scope project

A defined outcome for a defined price. Best when the requirement is clear and the boundary is easy to draw.

  • Written specification and acceptance criteria
  • Milestone-based invoicing
  • Change requests priced separately

Retained team

An agreed number of days each month against a rolling backlog. Best when priorities shift and speed matters more than certainty.

  • Monthly capacity, re-prioritised fortnightly
  • Rolling notice period
  • Same team, continuous context

Advisory & research

Short, sharp pieces of work: an architecture review, a build-vs-buy case, a market study. Best when the decision is the deliverable.

  • Two to six week assignments
  • Written report and briefing session
  • No obligation to build with us afterwards

Where we work

Sectors we are set up to serve

We are a young company and we say so plainly. What we bring is careful engineering, disciplined research and a willingness to be measured on outcomes — applied to the kinds of organisations where software has to justify itself.

  • Professional services
  • Retail & e-commerce
  • Logistics & operations
  • Education
  • Health & wellbeing
  • Financial operations
  • Non-profit
  • Early-stage products

Technology we build with

  • TypeScript
  • React & Next.js
  • Node.js
  • Python
  • PostgreSQL
  • REST & GraphQL APIs
  • Docker
  • AWS
  • Cloudflare
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Observability tooling

We choose boring, well-supported technology by default. Novelty has to earn its way into a client system.

Research practice

Decisions backed by evidence, not enthusiasm

Market research is a registered activity of ours for a reason: the cheapest feature is the one you decide not to build.

Discovery research

Structured interviews with the people who will actually use the system, written up as findings and quotes — not adjectives.

Market & competitor studies

Sizing, segmentation and a clear-eyed look at the alternatives your customers already have, including doing nothing.

Surveys & opinion work

Questionnaire design, sampling, fieldwork and analysis, run so the results survive scrutiny from someone who disagrees with them.

Questions

Straight answers

You do. On full payment of the relevant invoices, the intellectual property in bespoke work created for you transfers to your company, and you receive the source code, deployment configuration and documentation. We keep the right to reuse generic know-how and any pre-existing components we license to you, which we identify in the contract.

Fixed-scope projects are quoted as a total price against a written specification, invoiced at milestones. Retained teams are priced per day, per month. Advisory and research assignments are quoted as a fixed fee for a defined deliverable. Whichever model applies, you get the number in writing before work begins, and change requests are priced before they are started.

We handle personal data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Where we process personal data on your behalf we act as your processor under a written agreement covering purpose, retention, sub-processors, security measures and deletion at the end of the engagement. Details are in our privacy policy.

Yes. A two-week architecture review or a single research study is a perfectly good engagement, and it is often the sensible way for both sides to find out whether a longer relationship makes sense. We will tell you if a piece of work is too small to be worth your money.

Frequently. We can supplement an in-house team, take one workstream within a larger programme, or review work delivered by another supplier. In the last case we will give you our honest assessment, including when the right answer is that the existing work is fine.

Our registered office is at 3rd Floor, 86-90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE. We work primarily remotely with UK clients and meet in person where the engagement benefits from it. Correspondence should go to info@vytaltech.org.

Tell us what you are trying to fix

Send a few lines about the problem, the deadline and the constraint that worries you most. We will reply with an honest view of whether we are the right people, and what we would do first.
